Why is shipping more for residential than business?
UPS charges more to deliver to a residential address versus a business address.

We ask that you indicate on your Ship-To address if it is residential or business, so that upon completing your order the correct shipping cost will be included in your order total.

*UPS shipping is automatically calculated based on the zipcode you provide for your ship-to address when your order is processed. At that time it is determined if the address is residential or business. Your invoice will reflect the correct shipping charges in the event you forget to indicate the type of address your order is shipping to.

Top
Where can I find my tracking number?

Top
What does ANSI/ISEA Compliant mean?
When a product meets an ANSI approved standard.
In June of 1999 the 107 standard was established by ANSI as the accepted standard for the design and performance of High Visibility Safety Apparel, known as 107-1999. It was revised in September of 2004 and is now known as 107-2004. A new standard, 207, was implemented in 2006 as the accepted standard for Public Safety Vests (PSV) known as 207-2006.

Our charts do not represent official, legal, or complete interpretations of the ANSI 107-2004 or 207-2006 standards. Please rely on and refer to the standards themselves in answer to specific questions.

Top
What is the ANSI/ISEA 207-2006 standard?
The ANSI/ISEA 207-2006 standard was developed with the understanding that competing hazards exist for public safety employees that also need high visibility garments. It was developed in cooperation with the National Traffic Incident Management Coalition (NTIMC), whose members represent the public safety industry. It was the goal of NTIMC and ISEA to establish a standard that specified high visibility vests with specific features to meet the needs of public safety workers.

Visit ISEA for detailed information regarding the ANSI/ISEA 207-2006 standard.

Top
What are Public Safety Vests?
Public Safety Vests are designed specifically for visibility and quick recognition of public service employees.

Public Safety Vests that meet just ANSI/ISEA 207-2006 standards are designed for identification by color and labeling. Vests are fluorescent lime with colored background fabric specific to public safety groups, and reflective material for visibility.

ANSI/ISEA 207-2006 public safety vests may include design options, such as breakaway, colored identifiers, loops, pockets, badge holders, mic-tabs, and ID panels; however, these features are only suggestions and not mandatory to the standard.

Public Safety Vests that meet both ANSI/ISEA 107-2004 Class 2 and ANSI/ISEA 207-2006 standards are designed for both competing hazards and high visibility. Tear-away features prevent entanglement and snap up to accommodate weapons and equipment. Color specific checkered reflective tape provides identification by color and high visibility.

What are Classes and what do they stand for?
There are three classifications approved by ANSI for safety apparel. They are:
Class I:
Garments for workers who have ample separation from vehicular traffic that does not exceed 25 mph. "Class I" garments are typically safety vests and are recommended for parking service attendants, workers in warehouses with equipment traffic, shopping cart retrievers, sidewalk maintenance workers and delivery vehicle drivers.
Class II:
Garments intended for users who need greater visibility in poor weather conditions and whose activities occur near roadways where traffic speeds exceed 25 mph. This class of garment is suitable for railway workers, school crossing guards, parking and toll gate personnel, airport ground crews and law enforcement personnel directing traffic.
Class III:
Garments providing the highest level of visibility to workers in high-risk environments that involve high task loads, a wide range of weather conditions and traffic exceeding 50 mph. "Class III" garments, which provide coverage to the arms and/or legs as well as the torso include pants, jackets, coveralls or rain wear. The standard recommends these garments for all roadway construction personnel and vehicle operators, utility workers, survey crews, emergency responders, railway workers and accident site investigators.

Who is ANSI?
American National Standards Institute
The official organization representing the United States nationally and internationally within safety standards circles. They coordinate the activities of organizations within the U.S. that develop standards. They also approve the establishment of standards committees and new standards projects. ANSI sets the rules for the various methods used by standards developers, overseeing the process, and approving final standards.

Top
Who is ISEA?
International Safety Equipment Association
A trade association in the United States for companies that manufacture safety equipment. ISEA promotes the standardization of safety products by publishing the ANSI standards, as well as promoting the proper use of personal protective equipment.

Top
Are your ANSI/ISEA compliant safety vests certified?
Yes, certification of all ANSI/ISEA compliant safety vests have been tested by an independent, third-party accredited laboratory, not self-certified by the manufacturer.

Top
When are ANSI certified garments required?
When a governing agency (including OSHA) require a reliable standard, such as, the use of ANSI 107 certified hi-viz garments. Check with your local OSHA office or governing agency to see if this is a requirement for you.

Top
How is OSHA connected to standards?
The Occupational Safety and Health Act
Enacted to ensure that employers create a safe working environment for their employees oversees how products are installed and used in the workplace. OSHA standards and regulations may mandate the use of a product that meets a standard.

Top
Why are the sides of ANSI/ISEA safety vests closed and not available with expandable elastic?
In order to meet the standards for safety garments set forth by ANSI and ISEA, the safety garment must have continuous areas of retroreflective or combined-performance materials encircling the torso and placed in such a manner to provide 360 degree visibility of the wearer. Gaps in retroreflective, combined-performance, and background materials to enable fastening should not exceed 50mm (1.97 inches) horizontally.

Top
What is Retroreflective and Combined Performance Material?
All reflective tape on ANSI Compliant safety garments are Retroreflective.
In addition to being Retroreflective, Combined Performance Material is fluorescent in color and plastic coated giving it an excellent performance level in wet weather conditions. The silver Retroreflective tape is considered to have a good performance level in wet weather conditions.

What is regulation 23 CFR 634?
A new federal regulation, 23 CFR 634, mandating that anyone working in the right-of-way of a federal-aid highway must be wearing high-visibility clothing that meets the requirement of ANSI/ISEA 107-2004 edition Class 2 or 3. This requirement applies to all emergency responders.

The Code of Federal Regulations Title 23 (highways) Part 634 was originally published in the Federal Register Vol 71, No226, pp 67792-67800. The rule itself (634.3) simply states that:

"All workers within the right-of-way of a Federal-aid highway who are exposed either to traffic (vehicles using the highway for purposes of travel) or to construction equipment within the work area shall wear high-visibility safety apparel."
