Don't Get Burned By The Pool!

Summer is the best time for enjoying the outdoors. Having fun in the pool can be some of the most memorable times for families and children.  However, there are some important issues related to going swimming, and parents need to be sure of their plans for keeping their children safe. Parents can’t afford to leave children unwatched and unattended for a single moment.  Water safety is important, and children that aren’t able to swim must be monitored even more closely.  In a public setting with a lifeguard, older children may have a little more freedom, but it is still essential that a parent monitor and check in with all of their periodically.

The Sun’s rays can pose threats to anyone who is out by the pool.  Sunscreen should be applied before going to the pool, and a sunscreen wipe can provide a quick refresher application.  Sunscreen comes off in water and loses its potency, but carrying portable solutions like sunscreen wipe packages allows for a quick touch up.  Make sure that your children take a break from the sun every so often in order to hydrate and be sure to bring drinking water.  Small children don’t need to spend long days at the pool, but older children may enjoy longer swimming times.  As long as they stay hydrated and protected from the sun, it can be a wonderful summer activity.
